Soldiers are soldiers. Marines are Marines. Soldiers didn't earn the honor of being made Marines, and Marines didn't earn the honor of being a soldier.
A Soldier is a member of the Army, a Marine is a member of the Marine Corps, Rangers are Army Special Forces, Gunner is a nickname given to whoever has the SAW, or had the nickname when they signed up.
Gunner is the term for the entry level infantry in some countries. A soldier is someone who fights for their country in the armed forces. A navy corpsman classifies as a soldier
I don't really know much about the cultures of other militaries, but I know the US Army's firsthand and US Marine's secondhand. We know we're all on the same side, we just don't like being identified as the other. I ain't a marine, they ain't soldiers. Same way airmen aren't seamen, even if some of both fly jets or shoot guns.
As for Corpsman serving with marines, they live in that special spot where both the Marines and the Navy want to claim them, but they are "just" seamen until they earn the title Marine.
Soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines.
We will give each other shit to no end, but like siblings, we're the only ones who can do it.
I like how my phone auto-capitalized Marine...

And yeah, I guess autocorrect really likes Marines
