The are several obvious solutions to this problem.

doing nothing is also a solution. I mean, how long does it take to update most times? A few minutes. I can say that almost all of my updates are done in less than 10 minutes for sure. Is that really such a long wait in exchange for either a security issue being fixed or bugs being fixed?

I had one strike while I was writing an exam essay in class. I showed my professor and he told me to just write it on paper instead of wasting my time. He got it.

I never quite got the problem people have with Windows updates. From Win 7 onwards you can choose when they are to be installed and when to reboot. Just do it when the computer is not needed, like when you're asleep. It's not that your attention or interference is needed to do the job.

Well... i guess the problem here is that everyone just choose it to update later on the next day, and then forget to update when going to sleep. When THAT happens....well.... i guess all i can say is good job

If my computer is off and I turn it on, it will automatically do it and there's nothing I can do about it. Also, yeah, the 24 hrs thing.
