i don't think people give him enough credit. I don't think he was supposed to be anything LIKE ledgers joker. Clearly XD. He was given a different joker to play.
I thought it was ok, but could've used improving. I liked how he was more of a mafia boss than an anarchist this time. I like how the DCU tried to shake some things up, but like making Lex Luthor into a younger tycoon guy it didn't go well at all
I sleep 2 hours a night cause I work my ass off 12-18 hour on call split shifts. Basically survive from nap to nap and throw parenting a toddler in there to give my wife her time. #whitemansburden #thestruggleismylife
It's called method acting. A lot of the best performances have occurred as a result of people engaging in it. People dedicated enough to want to find a way to relate to a character or experience they themselves will never go through. Actors are just people, and a lot of people can't draw from an empty well. Or, are at the very least, not happy with the product they produce when they do.
Some people get too caught up in it, sadly, and the consequences can be severe, and this is one of those times.
The point is moot either way, since Leto also tried to engage in his version of "method acting," which took the form of harassing coworkers with disgusting pranks.
An famous put down from one old legend to a young, up and comer.......
A showbiz story involves his collaboration with Laurence Olivier on the 1976 film Marathon Man. Upon being asked by his co-star how a previous scene had gone, one in which Hoffmann’s character had supposedly stayed up for three days, Hoffmann admitted that he too had not slept for 72 hours to achieve emotional verisimilitude. “My dear boy,” replied Olivier smoothly, “why don’t you just try acting?”

I get your point, but I've heard of Dustin Hoffman, not Laurence Olivier.
Nothings wrong with that
The point would be to act so well that you portray someone who lost their mind
