Ummm.... I’m not sure if this was an intentional joke, or you misspoke. You’d turn your 16yo elderly dog, into a world record holding oldest dog on earth, who would likely die within seconds due to extreme old age? Or you meant you’d extend your dogs maximum lifespan by a factor of 10?
I've come back to this a hear later and realized just how cruel this really sounds. I want to restate that, while him and I were never really best friends, I dont hate him, and now that hes gone I genuinely really do miss him.
I apologize for being an asshole
Nah man. No hate from me. I took it more like- if you had that kind of a wish- you wouldn’t just use it on ANY dog you had a the moment. Like- a person can have many wonderful pets in a lifetime- but some will be more dear, more special in some way, or just closer to us than others. So I figured like you were saying: here’s this dog- it’s someone else’s and we don’t quite have the bond that I’d want to have with a dog that I’d use my one and only wish on...” sort of thing.
But- I do want to acknowledge and respect the fact that you fake back to this thread, that you obviously felt about your words and this dog to mention it here again and your missing it- and the integrity and courage that shows.
If you add the money to your account, there will be no transaction record with the bank. In the post 9/11 world- it will raise financial red flags, and you will likely face incarceration, questioning, and tax fraud charges (if you neglect to claim the income.) but explainin the money came from “magic” may be hard. If it’s not that much money, it may not draw attention. But with no transaction to ballance it the bank will see it as a system error and you’ll be debited the amount. If you increase your net worth with that 0, the total value of all your properties, accounts, investments, and holdings will increase by 10x- but you may still face similar problems. You could also put the 0 IN FRONT OF a stock price to value something like google or Apple at under $1 a share and buy it up, then wait for the bounce. You may get a call from the SEC though....
I was thinking similar. But then I wonder- it adds to the weight you can deadlift- but the mechanism is poorly defined. Like- if your muscles are strong enough you could deadlift 800lbs right? But let’s say your first day at the gym ever you “magically” gain enough muscle do a 1 rm 800lb deadlift? You’d destroy yourself. The connecting tissues and bones wouldn’t be strong enough. That comes from years of response to progressive overload. Even guys on steroids have that problem- injuries because what they can lift out paces the rest of their body. So... to add a 0 to your personal record, you’d only need to be able to complete 1 rep. Lift the bar- drop the bar. So in theory you may gain just enough strength to do one rep before suffering permanent injury.
A life lived well is never a waste, be it 50 years or 1,000. It’s relative, for them- adding that money to their bank account may be worthless. If they only have 10,100 dollars in the account- that money may do nothing for them. What if they have more? They could use that money for charity or something right? Sure. Could. Will they? Maybe not. Then is it a waste anyway? Their lifespan? Arguably that could be good or bad. Plenty of humans in their older years who wish things would be over already as is. Life gets painful when all your loved ones are dying and you’ve dealt with it long enough. It also adds to lax lifespan- NOT stops you from aging. You may live hundreds of years but your body will suffer the ravages that come with it, as your muscles and bones waste and your skin sags, senses go, joints and tissues ache... so maybe if they enjoy their dog they made a good choice for them. Not the choice you’d make, but I wouldn’t assume it’s a waste.
adverb
Scot. considerably; very.
“U r considerably”? I can only wonder- considerably what? Sadly we may never know, but I’m sure whatever it was going to be was insightful and eloquent based on what we have seen already.
Tbh he's not really my dog, I'm just stuck with him while my sister works
