I didn't write the original response lighthearted btw, more as recognizing the resolve of a strong people when pushed to the breaking point.
In case anyone is wondering that's called the Leidenfrost effect. His hand was probably very wet, and when the hot metal touches it, the moisture evaporates and creates a barrier of steam between the hand and the hot material.
Realistically he could've still burned the shit out of his hand because that looks like molten steel which would be stupidly hot. Not like the molten lead from Mythbusters.
