No, although I disagree with @betterthanyou most articles did say that bodily functions pause themselves during sleep. However, it is normal to pass gas in sleep as our entire bodies relax it's just not something that happens on the regular.
A friend of my parents was in bed beside her husband. He was fast asleep, when he let one go so loud, he woke up shouting "I'VE BEEN SHOT IN THE BACK!"
Also, from what I'm reading from other sources, it's quite possible to pass gas while asleep, it's just more likely to occur when you're closer to being awake, and as you get older
