"It's the society"
Jean sounds like one of those white girls being fake woke
Lots of people are good but lot of people are just shit too
Don't go around "it's the society's fault that", you're a part of it.
On the other hand Niccolo sounds like an angsty 14 year old. If humans were naturally evil then we wouldn't make up laws that would force us to be good. I'm on the middle team as well.
Humans can be naturally evil and still want laws that force them to be good. That's the social contract, people got tired of fighting and figured it would be easier to cooperate, even if it means backstabbing eachother later.
Neither. I think “people” needs better defined here. I think that people are a sum of our parts. I think the nature or existence of the soul isn’t something we can easily study, but we do know humans have bodies. Those bodies are made of cells which have a biological drive for certain things and respond to and crave certain stimulus. The body in essence wants to eat, sleep, and fuck it’s way through an existence which is as comfortable and easy as possible. The mind controls the body, but the body uses powerful chemical signals to influence the mind to do what it wants. The body doesn’t care where or how you got what it wants. The mind does. Most children need taught to share, not to hit, etc. Some children are easier taught or more naturally self regulate certain behaviors. Much of morality is cultural and circumstantial, and so much is based on our inate instincts. But a person is several systems coexisting with often different goals, mostly, not always, sharing a desire to survive.
I think the majority of people are good by nature. It's satisfying and fulfilling to do good deeds. If we were inherently evil, we wouldn't feel guilt or shame.
But what about people who literally do not feel guilt or shame, or people who do “bad” deeds but do not feel bad about it so long as they get what they want?

(I still don't do bad things often tho, but occasionally)
