Good for them. Do they also have a ridiculous inheritance tax or was it lost to debt? In the US farms can have an inheritance tax of 90% of total value. Meaning the inheritors need to pay the government 90% of the total value of the land if they want to keep the land. This has lead to many, many families losing their land to the government/banks.
My aunt has been selling my grandfathers lands for two year's now and every time my Grandfather learn of that, he cry's. It fucking destroys me watching him cry and its my dream to buy them back even if I have to devote my entire life to it.
