All of the consoles I have were bought before I got a job, with a household income less than $15k USD annual. I have 7, 8 if you count PC. 2 is not a lot at all.
I think the sign of prosperity is having more games than you can play. Growing up, I'd play every game I bought because they were few and far between. Now I have stacks of games that "I'll get around to someday". The stack only grows larger since one of my resolutions for the year was to play and beat games I start (well, most of them at least.).
