I agree. It’s a slow process. You generally don’t just change things overnight that underpin the social, economic, and policy structure of a major country. Even revolutions like the switch from monarchy or democracy like in Russia or China took time and huge wars to achieve, and while huge changes were made very quickly, the price was human lives and suffering for decades to come. People always want instant change, but any change, especially one so major can have lasting and echoing repercussions. The desire to change healthcare is a humanitarian one- one aimed to support prosperity and a high basic standard of living for all Americans. It’s seof defeating to rush in and cause catastrophe in those lives through abrupt change. So we are working on it, and it will take time. If others want to shame the US- send relief workers and funds to shame the government instead of teasing people who can’t afford healthcare from a position of privelage.
Makes perfect sense. If a father beats a son, why can’t the son beat others? If your neighbor rapes his daughter, why can’t you rape his daughter? What a wonderful philosophy you have, where one wrong action excuses any bad behavior after it.
You aren’t my opponent. Even if I wanted to fight, you don’t make my division and your spitefully illogical arguments make that clear. I’m not interesting in spreading hate or ignorance or fighting. I’m interested in sharing ideas and finding better ways. When you are ready I will be around. Until then I hope you continue to learn and grow. Best of luck to you.
What defense does the US have? Most of the public will agree that the healthcare situation is unacceptable. You’ll find few people who are completely happy with it or anywhere near, especially those who actually need some type of ongoing or major care and don’t have jobs or situations that give them easy access. We know healthcare is broken, it’s been a major legal and political issue for over a decade. The “angry defenders” are people who get upset by the sanctimonious nature of mean spirited and petty people who want to judge from the comfort of home. Imagine a neighbor with a drinking problem, who knows they have a problem and are trying to fix it but just can’t seem to. Now imagine everyone in the neighborhood who doesn’t have a drinking problem laughing and mocking them while they struggle, but not actually lifting a finger. Imagine the closest “help” being someone saying “it’s easy, just don’t drink. That’s what I do.” People get angry at pricks and trolls. That’s all Humans.
US Heathcare offers two options:
• Bankruptcy
• Death
Why waste money on buying "coverage" then?Because it's now required by law to spend money on "coverage" and have insurance that we know won't cover us when we need it.
Kinda like government enforced mafia protection money.
One correction? It offers 3 things for most people. Bankruptcy and death is also an option- where your loved ones get stuck paying the bill after all the expenses are tallied and they couldn’t save you.
Before you all chime in give me the best option for health care
Be careful to not just assume individual cost at each treatment or emergency.
Also consider ratio of taxes to pay vs another country. Amount of time you have to wait for adequate treatment. Progress of that county vs others on the discovery or invention of treatment.
At the end of the day the US may not be #1 in all categories...but overall is much bettter than what you are implying
