It's all a bloody scam..
Google "Indian pastor healing" and see the scripted healing acts.. even crowd is planted with people to pull these acts of.. damn

They are only first level clerics. They don't have the "remove disease" spell and are stuck using the cure minor wounds cantrip

In original D&D clerics didn't learn any healing spells until a few levels in, meaning when you start out as a cleric you were just a shittier warrior
