But guys prefer short girls. As a tall girl I can say my situation is the same as a short guy's.

Me too! I’m 5’9”, and I never understood why so many 6’ (and taller) men would end up with the 4’11” - 5’2” women.

I know, right? I'm 5'10" and I don't think that's like freakishly tall, lots of guys are taller than me. But they still prefer girls who are like 5'.
