While “magazine” doesn’t accurately apply to a revolver- revolvers can have “clips,” and considerering that in common parlance people often interchange “clip” and “magazine” that’s not so laughable even if it should likely be corrected. There are however assault weapon revolvers. The Mateba model 6 Unica (aka Mateba “autorevolver”) is one such weapon- a semiautomatic revolver which is on several banned firearms lists. This doesn’t mean that the original wasn’t a poorly researched post or typo- but I thought I’d mention it.
Assault weapon is a slippery, increasingly broadening term. Federal and State law can make a gun that has the ability to load 20 round or more magazines an assault weapon, and some terms just paint them as semiautomatic or fully automatic firearms in general. Literally every gun conceivable in the modern age beyond bolt action would qualify as assault weapons. It's a definition that could literally apply to the wide majority of guns.
