Yeah, no point in buying a dvd of the movie, as long as the display is alright. Not everyone has as much money as everyone else. My sister goes to a school in a poorer area, she goes there because the government help has actually made the education better. But her friends tend to be disadvantaged financially. As for my family, we used to not have much money, and old habits don’t die so easily. We actually bought Frozen on VHS for the novelty. And you can get a ton of good movies for cheap on VHS.

DVD's are cheap though too, plus it's easier to carry around a dvd than a VHS tape. Also remember the original comment said her sister is seven. She was born in 2010-2011 and even back then, DVD's were fairly cheap, especially kids movies if you wait a bit after it comes out on video.
I guess coming from a middle class family I didn't have to deal with the effects of not having things. And re-reading my comment it does come off as dickish. But you also have to remember the current year and how VHS was obsolete years ago.
DVDs with stuff like Disney aren’t cheap. People don’t tend to give them away unless they’re broken. VHS was considered obsolete, so they’d be given away even if they still worked just fine.
Of course, a few kids probably don’t know what these are. My original comment, saying “you aren’t special”, was extremely harsh. I’m sick of seeing things that forget not everyone had money. People talk about always getting the newest Gameboy, or getting every Harry Potter book as soon as it came out.
I was in a thrift store the other day and these tiny kids (2-4) were so excited about some of the vhs shows they found and were going to get to watch because they hadnt seen them before, being as old as they are.
My youngest nephew didn't know what VHS were. So, he's at my house one day and he grabs one and says "What is this??" I said "...It's a VHS..." He looks at it really funny and says "What's that?" and before I could answer he ripped the tape out. I stood there a little shocked, then said "well, it WAS a movie" He looked at it a little longer said "huh" and threw it on the floor :( That was the first time I really felt old
