They'll eventually go far enough up the road that the new cop will be going the right way, unless that guy got pulled over going the wrong way far down the interstate.

When I was living in AZ. with my oldest brother he was on his way from work one day. He had the music blaring loud and this was Tuscon so it was a big city and he was waiting at a traffic jam when a motorcycle cop pulled up next to my brother. My brother freaked out lol like anyone would. The cop looks my brother dead in the eye and says "Music a little loud don't you think?" My brother thinking quick on his feet looks a few cars up and see a woman's seatbelt buckle dragging out her car on the driver's seat. So my brother says "Don't think she is wearing her seat belt, do you?" And points at the woman. The cop says "Good point." And goes and pulls over the woman. Lmfao
