People really overstate the eye. Sure, it's great, but they have some pretty serious design flaws such as a blind spot, a short range of color absorption, inverting the image, and more. The eye of the squid is actually way better than our own. This is actually because these flaws were made early during the eye's evolution. It's a big flaw, but it's not so big a flaw that it doesn't stop being a survival advantage.
No one claimed the human eye was the best in the universe? A lot of animals have much better vision than us-- be it night vision, color vision, etc etc etc
I've been unbelievably happy since I upgraded to my new squid eyes. I can see every detail of people as they scream and run from me. It's breathtaking.
