I don’t see how this makes them cunts. You’ll quickly learn to remember stuff if you can’t rely on your parents to bring it to you. It’s just teaching responsibility.
My atheist side is pointing out the contradiction of a religious education. Religion and reality are polar opposites. You can either have a religious education or you can learn about reality. One of the the words in "religious education" has to go.
My dad was just telling me about a student of his that would want to ride the bus with his friends but he didnt have room for his bassoon. So his mom drove it to the school every day.
It’s not necessarily a bad thing to have a parent drop stuff off for you but it’s also not bad to not allow parents to do that. There’s arguments to each side. I was just defending the administration by saying they weren’t cunts for it.
If you forget your instrument sure. But making your mom bring it to school everyday so you can ride the bus. Its needless and spoiled. Also hes now 16 and my dad says hes having issues with independent problem solving. Not saying its over a bassoon but probably contributed.
What if reaching out to others and coordinating a way to recover from a mistake as early as possible is their problem-solving? Or are they trying to encourage the students to also learn how to set up spy-style secret meetups and drops to get their materials without being caught?
I could understand the very rare occasion that your child forgot something, but if you are bringing them their stuff on a regular basis that is a problem. If you're forgetting your things all the time you need to find a way to stay more organized. The title says high school, so at that point they should be responsible for their own things.
They won't starve in a day. They won't ruin their education in a day. Bet they will remember their lunch tomorrow.
Who knows. My kid's school gets free lunch.
This is most excellent. Our biggest job as parents is to teach our children skills that will benefit them in adulthood. Taking care of themselves should be a priority. Little Timmy will live without lunch and come home extra hungry if he can't score some food on his own. Little Timmy will not die if he gets an F for failing to bring in his completed homework. People are raising pansies these days.
