Lemony Snicket, is that you?

I haven't read it myself yet, but I've only heard good things about it. The 2015 movie The Martian starring Matt Damon is based on it (which I haven't watched either)

It's actually from one of the HTTYD novels.

I can't recommend The Martian enough. The movie is alright; the book is *unreal*. I'm going to read it to my nephews after we finish our current series.

I second this, I watched the movie first which was amazing then read the book which was even better. Loved both which is very unusual for myself.
