A swastika it's an hindu symbol, it was adopted by the germans some time around 1920 to represent the superiority of the arian race (white race) but the symbol was inverted, the symbol shown in the pic isn't...

FYI, I am a Hindu and this symbol is inverted. What the Germans did was just rotate it a bit, not invert it.
