Tbh I’ve seen both genders do this a lot.. Usually not in a ‘pretending to be your friend’ way but ‘oh brad is here I hate him but social convention keeps me from telling him to go away so I’ll just deal’ type way. Is that just me?

Nah, I think the whole "women do this but men don't" is just self-fulfilling prophecy and confirmation bias. People of every gender do this.

I'm a girl and this rarely ever happens. I'm disappointed that this stereotype is still so prominent, but not surprised.

Yeah you’re lucky sunflowers I think the stereotype exists for a reason. I’ve had the nicest company among guy friends and the most bitchy attitude from female “friends”
