I mean they could very easily modify the link so that it takes you to a version of the page with their edits to it effectively removing the video from the list on the page until the page is refreshed the long way around.

1. Too much effort
2. Wikipedia would probably get upset

its not much effort at all. Its a very simple thing to edit a link to change what the end result looks like with the right tools. Whether or not wikipedia gets upset really wouldn't matter all that much to them because they have little power especially compared to google. The only people they would need to be worried about getting upset is the people getting them money and even then they seem to not really care sometimes anyways.

Haha, it's the YouTube rewind 2018 video. I never watched it but apparently it's abysmal.

It is not representative of Youtube whatsoever. It panders to advertisers and the people who migrated from Vine.
