I drive a manual, and this is how I drive.
I have a Mazda 6 and regularly get 38-40 mpg...
You just push the clutch in and coast at the low speed instead of braking. I find it far easier to conserve momentum in a manual than an automatic
Also, if everyone stopped trying to pass everyone else and instead just settle into a comfortable distance so nobody is in anyone's blind spot, that'd be nice.
Someone speeding up to 75 mph to pass someone going 65 mph over the course of 30 seconds just to go back down to 65 mph... has saved approx 9 seconds. If you seriously need those 9 seconds, manage your fucking time schedule better or keep speeding.
Also, stop tailgating.
