I got that but I wonder WHY he had to be put down. Poor baby looks happy and healthy in the picture.

You can see tge greying on his nose which makes him at least between 10-14 years old, which is when a lot of problems arise regarding organs, joints, and cancer.

FUN the name of this site, it's in the title, you took it right out of this place, posts like this is what made me quit Facebook. I'm surrounded by death all day, this is my escape, my happy place if you will.

He looks young and healthy because he was well taken care of. He was not young, or healthy

You can see on his nose grey hairs are replacing the brown, which happens at around 14 years if I remember correctly.

At this age they often start struggling with things like organ/joint/pain problems, they may start losing their teeth, be more prone to things like cancer and skin bumps/growth of malignant tumours thereon. They may also experience problems like bone breaks due to osteoporosis.

Greying happens around 10 years I believe which I guess can be considered old for a larger dog but geez man, that's so sad. I found his twitter but he didn't say the reason, which is fine it's his life but it would be nice to know.

I’ve never had a dog, I’ve spent very little of my life in love, and much much less feeling loved... but this one hit me. How could you ever put down your best friend. God it would break me. I’m tough as nails, because I’ve had to be, and it would shatter me. Have to reconsider my life long dream of getting a puppo now. This one was heavy man.

Trust me you should, the right dog could keep you from doing some bad thrings and making bad decisions. While you will have a hole in your heart when your best friend is gone they would have brought you years and years of happiness and comfort.

I used to think the hardest part of having a dog was having to put them down. But it's much harder to see your dog suffering and in extreme pain and not being able to cure them. I've had to put both my dogs down in the last 14 months and yes it was hard to say goodbye but absolutely the most humane thing for them at the time. I still miss them like crazy.

I'm so sorry, it's so so hard to put a pet down no matter how old or sick they get. You have to be so incredibly strong to get through it.
