Legit tho one of my high school teachers had a Nokia as his first phone and just replaced any part that messed up for years (he called it the Franken-phone) and he only replaced it when it go broken falling onto the road at 60 mph. He still maintains that he could have put it back together had they stopped to find all the parts
Just reinforce that bit with some white heat shrink tube, works like a charm and there's only a small difference visually.
Self-fusing tape is also great but doesn't look as slick and I usually use it for cables with wider connectors (I also used it on earphones once) as you can't fit a heat shrink tube small enough to wrap the cable tightly onto a big connector.
Seriously, both those things are a dime a dozen and your cables will thank you, especially if you still own the shitty Apple ones
Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I treated my Apple cord super well and it still broke after like 2 years, I took special care to pull it by the hard plastic socket but then the connector just fell out of the plastic socket, it's like you can't win with these Apple cords.
Yeah it's definitely partly about treatment. But Apple cords also suck.
