Going by inflation it should only be like $35. Shit like this needs to be regulated.

I'm an experienced pricing analyst, and I'm going to say it once--this is pure margin. It's roughly x1000 times cheaper to manufacture insulin than it was several years ago when it first hit the market. The actual margin per unit is about 4800%. It makes very little sense to me why they would do this outside of one very simple reason--they can. I'm all about the free market and I dont believe in a lot of government regulation... but even I'll admit this is a dick move by the managing company in charge of setting market targets.

Also in this particular woman's case she could use walmart's brand of Novolin. It's only $24.88 and it's actually a bit longer acting so she'd have fewer injections. Granted, she shouldn't have to switch, but it's better than nothing.
