Not a movie but when I was 13 I got mono (no, not from kissing, just pure bad luck) and stayed home for 4 months. Every day we would watch 2 to 3 episodes of the Little House in the Prairie with my mom, comfortably wrapped in a blanket, my head on her shoulder, like there were no worries in the world. I'll always cherish these moments, when I'm sick or down I still enjoy watching an episode (even though it kinda sucks and it's 10x better when we watch it together).
I got mono when I was a kid too! My mom couldn’t skip work, so she asked me what she could do to make me feel better while she was gone. I told her I wanted the “Other Mary Poppins.”
I’d seen The Sound of Music in the video rental store and didn’t know what it was. She rented it for the entire month and a half I was sick. I must’ve watched it at least once every day, mostly due to the fact that I didn’t have enough energy to leave the room to get anything else. But it grew on me.
I had surgery once and when I woke up, my mom was sitting there with a copy of The Sound of Music on DVD.
I'm glad ya'll understand what a sick movie is, it can be a show as well! Oddly whenever I ask this to anyone irl no on understands what I mean! I would watch TinTin, (the cartoon not the gross 3d movie) and @parisqeen would watch anne of green gables.
@pinballwzrd Sound of music is such a good choice because it is really long and you can zone out into your sick brain without getting too confused when you zone back! @purplepumpkin I have no clue what Little House in Prairie is, would you recommend?
Anne of Green Gables was my saviour. When I was little I would often get really sick due to this parasite I had, I would watch the Kevin Sullivan Anne Of Green Gables series, 3 movies which were a thousand hours long. Mum would sometimes watch it with me and it helped so much.
I don't know, it's definitely a mom show, but it's sweet (except the rape episode, which my mom saw once in the 80's and would never watch again, so I haven't seen it either). It's based on a series of books where a woman describes her life as a child in a small village during the 1870's - 80's. The characters are interesting, the plot of the episodes are nice and there are a lot of funny moments, but let's say I would watch it on TV in the afternoon, not as an evening movie. I suck at describing shows and movies^^
