In Mexico, it is common to have a nickname since childhood.
I got my first one when I was born, Tweety, like the bird because my head was too big and shirts didn't fit me because I had a big head.
My second one was "Calcetin" which translates to "sock", I was the most pale Mexican in my family next to my mom (her family was Italian).
My whole family is filled with names. Some of them dont even have a translation to them. But I wish I had something cooler. One of my uncles, he's really old, he goes by "Brujo" which is sorceror.
He and his wife did a bunch of "witchcraft", more like home remedies to remove bad spirits and stuff.
I got the nickname Ethan
Which is nowhere close to my name
Because I got mistaken for another person named Ethan, alot
i get mistaken for alot of people
When i was a kid my dad used to call me sneaker because he said I walked very quiet in his house (which was very old with creaky floors) and would sneak around all the time and jump out and scare people. My brother called me sneaker because he said I was an old shoe. It was a little kid insult but I hated it haha
