this is extrordinarily disrespectfull, especially considering the fact that most of the people in the comments seem to be commending them for this choice. as A christian, I feel extrordinarily upset about this because I can just think of all the media backlash if it was any other religion that's disassociated with christianity. but no, everyone here is following the "this awfull thing i did is perfectly fine because i did it to christians" way of thinking and it disgusts me.

I'm an atheist and I think this is fucked up. Truly shameful.
Honestly to me it just shows a blatant lack of basic comprehension in what's actually contained within the medium they're commenting on, along with a desire to try and trigger people. Which are all the components of your standard garden-variety troll.
It doesn't even make sense. Whether you believe in God or not, at least parts of the Bible have been found to be factual and of great historical relevance. Same with the Koran and other religious texts.

Just because some parts have been proven factual doesn't mean it's not fiction. Watchmen has historically accurate facts in it, but we can all agree it's fiction. My only issue why not have it's own section, because putting it in non-fiction would be even worse than putting it in fiction.
If you only had the two sections fiction and non-fiction, where would you put outdated and incorrect textbooks? Not saying that they're the same as Bibles, just that your Watchmen example made me think of other cases of contains-fact-and-fiction. Like a chemistry textbook with the Bohr model of the atom, or a biology textbook saying Watson and Crick discovered DNA instead of that they described its shape, or a history textbook saying Christopher Columbus spread disease to native Americans (specifically in North America, where he never was). They have truths and were written to be non-fiction, but also do include some falsehoods, even if by accident or ignorance.
I've never read the watchmen, but there's pretty much no way to verify the accounts in most historical texts, should they therefore all be moved to the fiction section? The Bible has been cited as having more historical accuracies and relevance than a lot of the documentations taken as fact from various cultures and societies. It was written as fact, and cannot, technically, be proven to be false. It also cannot technically be proven to be true. It's had an overwhelming influence of the very foundations of our modern society for thousands of years, and It's the only accounting of several historical figures and events. Labelling something like that as fiction instead of what it is (religion) because it offends peoples sensitivities will always seem a weak stance to take in my books (<- and that pun wasn't even intended). Especially when their job is meant to be the literal organization and promotion of books (cont)
