It is not infinite. A mine craft world is over 60,000,000x256x60,000,000. In simple terms- it is a cuboid (like a big 3D “square,”) that using the in game scale of 1 meter per block is significantly larger than the earth. Without bots or mods or cheating etc. it would take years to walk across one side to the “edge.” It would take the life time of many people to see every single block in a single minecraft world. It’s effectively infinite for most any intents and purposes- but it is not infinite. Also- even though it is a “cube” because gravity pulls “down” and not to the center, the planet is effectively “flat” shaped. Not a “plain” exactly as it is 3 dimensional and has depth- but one can’t walk all the way around it in vanilla even if one had the time.
Yes, very signifigantly. Given 1 block = 1 meter, it has been calculated to have aproximarely 93 million times the surface area of the Earth... before the Far Lands bug kicks in in the earlier editions and the invisible wall after that patch.
