@guestwho-
To our previous conversation about taking a stance and not bothering to see the other side of the story- this is a clear example why I always try to see more than my perspective. Because often times we don’t have the whole picture, and this is the sort of thing that can happen when people act off a narrow perspective and with haste without trying to see a bigger picture.
No @guest_ perhaps I wasn't clear. I certainly do not advocate blindly developing an uninformed opinion and sticking to it, facts be damned. I always research the whole story before first deciding if I give a damn, and then what I may think of it. In actuality my suggestion was advise for a happier existence, since people who constantly try to see everyone's point of view and not offend anyone are seldom happy. I was merely suggesting that you may be happier (not that I'm suggesting you're not happy, of course) if you were to stop trying to acknowledge all possible sides of a debate and simply state your considered opinion. Of course, I don't know you and perhaps you just have an accommodating personality. As for myself, if I decide I care enough to develop an opinion you will always know where I stand!
Alright, so:
-He was beaten by one guy
-The guy was 17 and the 16 year old's brother, whom she had told the driver had assaulted her
-The brother ambushed the driver when he stepped off his bus
-Whether he was TRYING to kill the driver is unclear, as is the extent of what the 17 year old did. All the articles I've seen so far simply say the bus driver fell to the sidewalk (possibly hitting his head?) as a result of the 17 year old attacking him. The 17 year old ran off, and the bus driver was later found and taken to the hospital
-The bus driver remained in hospital for 5 days before dying from his injuries
-The girl phoned the police to report the assault after her brother had already attacked the man
-The police reviewed the footage and saw the Bus driver walk past the girl, but no sexual assault occured

Thank you for the facts in clear concise form. This is an example to me of how we are poorly educated on violence- with most lessons being simple like “violence is bad,” and conflicting media which glorifies violence since most people have no healthy outlet to violence in life and see it as a taboo or a form of power they desire. But the truth is, and as has gained before, all it takes is one punch to kill a person. You don’t even have to be buff or a trained fighter and they can be in perfect health. The danger is compounded by the fact that we do t always know the health of strangers either or any drugs, medications, etc they are on. So a single punch can accidentally kill a person and leave them dead and you a murderer. That is the lesson on violence- that even a tiny amount can get out of our control and do far more than we intended. It doesn’t take much to kill or permanently damage a human being.
You know, we have this type of torture/ punishment here called "tùng xẻo" which doesn't mean anything together
But "tùng" is the sounds the drum makes when you play it when "xẻo" is the action of sliding a thin layer of meat off.
So basically, the person gets tied up and everytime the drum is hit, someone slides a small layer of meat of their body.
And it keeps going until it stops.
I wanna do that.
You're giving me Vietnam flashbacks. How the Hell you manage to give me flashbacks to a war that happened decades before I was born, I don't know, but you managed it.
We also had "pour honey on that guy and put him in the fire ant nest" thingy.
Oh oh my father once made this guy stand in the rice field so the leeches would suck his blood. My father said when he walked outta the water, his legs were black as it's covered in leeches.
