One of the finest TV series in recent times

It's the Chernobyl miniseries on HBO

I know that word is mini-series but every time I read it as miniz-eries

In this case, the world paid. USSR redacted an entire report from the 1970's outlining the risk of a particular series of events should they ever happen. It gave the impression that USSR nuclear energy was not the best in the world, so the report was removed. Those events did happen and led to Chernobyl disaster, because the Soviet government preferred to lie, or at least prevent the truth from coming out.

Doesn't really seem like a debt if you don't end up paying the lender.

Seriously, dude, poetic license used to make a point, not a literal debt. Sheesh.

He made a point in a poor way, deal with it.
