They have to though. I mean definitely not anything as complex as how we view time, but they have to be cognizant of times passage at some level, even if it's just instinctual

They can at the very least remember the length of seasons and locations, and that’s enough

I think they react to how things change during seasonal transitions more than they remember how long they are.

Uh... pigs can. If you give a pig a treat say... every Friday, they will begin counting the days until it's Friday and show up expecting a treat. You can also do this every 4 days or every 5 days or every 3 days. They remember.
