And... yeah, comparing Europe's extreme weather to the US is just... dumb. It doesn't get up to 120F in Maine or Massachusetts, which are far closer to England, France, and Germany's climate than the middle of Death Valley.
Oh... and while... say a 10 degree F difference might not matter much when it's like... 55F to 65F, there's a huge difference at the extremes. 25F and 35F can mean life or death, as can 110F and 120F.
