Can I add a few? Avatar, Blade Runner, Butterfly Effect, The Crow, Cube, Dark City, Django Unchained, Fight Club, the Green Mile, The Matrix, Shawshank redemption, Snowpiercer, Priest, Highlander, Life of Pi, Mad Max, Oldboy (original), the Prestige, Total Recall (original), Twelve Monkeys, ok I'm done.
Memento and Identity are not that well-known, especially by the younger people (Memento was released in 2001, Identity in 2003), but they are mind-blowing. Memento is incredibly well built, and Identity has really clever plot twists up its sleeve. Highly recommended.
Sucker Punch is terrible.
The Fountain is underrated, as is Pi. Shit, pretty much everything by Darren Aronofsky is underrated.
from Pi: "11:15, restate my assumptions: 1. Mathematics is the language of nature. 2. Everything around us can be represented and understood through numbers. 3. If you graph these numbers, patterns emerge. Therefore: There are patterns everywhere in nature."
I wasn't completely sold on Shutter Island though
The twist at the end partially ruined it IMHO
