It’s a 2 inch long wasp with a 7mm+ stinger (about 1/5 an inch). It hunts and knocks out tarantulas with its powerful venom. It then drags them into a den- lays an egg on them, and when the egg hatches the larvae makes a hole in the spider and eats its insides out; saving the vital organs for last so the spider doesn’t die quickly. It’s sting is one of the most painful insect stings on earth- bullet ants are one of the few that outrank it. They’re found throughout the United States and down into South America- as well as places like India and much of Asia.
Probably? Cry? Swear? The venom is very strong and causes extreme pain. The pain from a sting tends to last about 5 minutes. Redness and tenderness may last for a couple weeks. Treat it like any sting or bite. Don’t scratch or irritate it, keep it clean. Like any “non fatal” insect bite, the very young, very old, and in poor health, as well as those who are known allergic or have a reaction should be taken to medical help as a prudent measure of safety. These wasps are largely solitary and aren’t very aggressive- but if you receive multiple stings you should probably also see a medical professional just in case.

No, seriously, that's what they tell you to do.
