You know how many of those fatal shootings arent suicide? around 1/3rd. you know how many of those fatal shootings that arent suicides were done with legally owned guns? a nearly negligible amount.
not only does that mean that (based on the two numbers given) that there are 3 times more stabbings in the UK, a country with multiple times less people, than there are gun murders in the US it also means that there are many hundred times more stabbings done with legally owned knifes in the UK than gun murders with legally owned guns in the US. The UK also tried to get people to turn in their knifes because reasons. You know what happened? criminals broke into the turn in stations and stole the knifes that were being turned in to keep out of the hands of said criminals. they eventually caught the criminals that did it and got "most" of the knifes back however they should have had to. In one ACTUAL image of the things turned in one was literally a lightly serrated SPOON and a bread knife.
stabbings aren't more survivable than shootings. There is a reason knife fights tend to have death rates equal to or greater than the amount of people that brought knives. It's a lot easier to fix a bullet wound than a stab wound when neither are accidental.
having x stabbings (which as i stated a second ago are LESS likely to be survived than a shooting) vs having .33x shootings (which, again, are more likely to be survived than a stabbing) is a rather easy choice

Yea, I guess it makes sense when they say "Why not bring a knife to a gunfight, doesn't matter either way"
"What you have are bullets and the hope that when your guns are empty I will no longer be standing. Because if I AM, you will all be dead before you have the chance to reload."
the reason you "dont bring a knife to a gun fight" is because the knife is only more effective at close range. The gunman has less of a chance of winning against a knife having opponent even at just 10 foot distance. Once you get to the point the gun has enough range advantage to beat the knife then the saying kicks in.

Thank you, I guess that's all super relevant. Why are there just 1/3 of homicides per capita in the UK compared to the USA though? While there were 40,000 stabbings in the UK, they had a total of 732 homicides. Sevenhundredthirtytwo. You folks seriously taking the train to Whatabout Junction? Don't bring some twisted FOX News bullshit to a fact based argument.
I find it endlessly entertaining that the quote is from a movie set in London, based off a British comic, written by a British author got downvoted presumably because someone took it as an argument for England being more dangerous than America. Alas, poor Yorick.
