I always liked the idea of taking February 28th and giving it to March (29th in leap years). March now has 32 days; and they could make four eight-day weeks. Each weekend has an extra day. On these four new days, we could celebrate things that bring us together and make us humans, instead of the usual dead person or independence from whatever past oppressor. I like it because it feels more forward-looking to celebrate humanity (art, literature, science, civilization, etc) than the normal reasons for holidays. Also, March is generally a pleasant month for everyone - not too hot, not too chilly unless you're somewhere crazy.
I've always liked this idea, but what the fuck do I tell people when they ask for my birthday? What would that one, single New Years Day day be numerically called? The first? The One? Solo? On leap years, would it be like. Duo? The Double?
Would there be discrimination against people born on those day(s), because they're detached from the rest of the calendar?
