That’s actually not exactly true for a few reasons reasons-
The “sudden stop” doesn’t kill you. Acceleration kills you. Specifically sudden and extreme acceleration. You don’t have to stop either. If you had a vehicle that could accelerate fast enough- say 0-500mph in .01 second- you’d die simply through increasing your speed that fast. Similarly, if you are in a vehicle moving rapidly and it changes direction rapidly- just changing directions could kill you even if you didn’t collide with an object. In physics- acceleration is a change in velocity over time. Showing down or speeding up are both acceleration- one is just “negative acceleration” in relation to a direction of travel.
Thusly- as acceleration requires speed by definition, and it is the change of speed that kills you- speed is in fact the CAUSE of death. The speed itself doesn’t kill you- the change does, but without the speed there could be no change. Thusly it is specifically a change in speed that kills you- meaning speed is the ultimate cause precipitating the events that follow. In short- all accidents hold speed as the primary contributing factor of physics because of not objects ever moved- there would never be any accidents. To say otherwise is like saying that a knife doesn’t kill you- tissue damage does. But that damage doesn’t spontaneously occur in absence of a precipitating cause. Speed is the cause of the accident and the primary factor in any deaths caused.
Even then, you can maintain a steady g-force without accelerating that is enough to cause you to pass out and die, or even worse, crush you. I mean, sure, you have to accelerate to get there, but you get my point.
