I would have to argue that much like marijuana is a gateway drug to somebody with the particular disposition to addictive things, violent video games could be the gateway to something worse for somebody with a disposition to violence and having a mental disorder. While it might not be the defining factor in that particular person's actions, it shouldn't be completely overlooked. Not saying it had a roll in the recent shootings but to say it can't have a roll at all in any shooting is shortsighted.
