If trump calls a state of emergency (we’re in several already) he can seize all money being sent over the border by legal and illegal immigrants. Said money is Mexico’s biggest income, and if I remember the numbers right, would pay for the wall rather quickly.
Almost... well, not almost right, but almost what Trump claimed he was going to do (but of course hasn't done). He first claimed he would force Mexico to pay for the wall by stopping remittances to Mexico. He didn't. Then it was taxing remittances. He didn't do that either. And Mexico hasn't paid for the wall. But then, there isn't much wall.
