My grandmother had a picture of her Dad that was the only picture she had of him. He was a shy man. he was alive that picture was very precious to my grandmother. Sadly it was damaged in a flood when my Dad was just a baby. But my grandmother kept the photo. It was badly scratched, faded, and folded.
My 2nd oldest brother had a friend who worked in a photo hut place that claimed to repair old photos. He took it to them asking to try to help.
They made a copy of it just in case it doesn't fix. They did their best on it, it took them 3 months of work. My brother gave it back to my grandmother for her 80th birthday. She cried because the original was so badly damaged you couldn't even see his face. But the new one looked like the picture was taken that morning.
It sat on my grandmother's nightstand till she passed away.
It now hangs in my parents livingroom. With hers next to it.
So I say bless those who repair photos. Because they bring life to memories.
Seeing this the second time, I just realised it isn't even a shadow- in the original you can see it's a man (suit and tie, the face is obscured), the person who did this just straight up erased him.
