I just slowly lose vocabulary and ability to speak in the 3 I have some knowledge in, one to the point of almost completely forgotten

When I can’t be bothered to look up a word, I switch language. Bad news is the more you switch, the more you are forgetting the first language

I forget a word in one language and get pissed as fuck for knowing what it’s called in a couple more languages but it’s of no help cause I need it for that particular language

What sucks the most is speaking multiple languages but not being able to write a formal letter in any of them

Hahaha well we had to do that a lot in school so I retained that skill. Okay how about this - my native language has three levels of formality which means not only do I need to know the word for something, I have to know three words that mean the same exact thing only just that you use them according to how important the person you’re communicating with is

Sometimes I'm like "how do you say that in English???" and then it dawns on me that it's the same as in French, like "table" or "quinoa". Feels like bullshitting with extra stupid steps.
