The rail versus the test of the platform... the stock versus the site rest... Cool looking weapon, looks a bit dated though and more like an older MK with some aftermarket parts from the early 2000's--a LOT of the weapons in that picture look more like relics in an older collection.
It’s hard to tell from where I’m sitting. Looking on mobile so the pic is small for me. The shrouds are wrong for the MK and look more like an M249. Some details here and there look off. But most is easy enough to change and it could be an older weapon serviced with newer parts, parts on hand etc- or as is common with military collectors it could be a “close enough” deal he picked up and Frankensteined to “look the part” of whatever weapon he has a crush on but couldn’t get or justify. It’s definitely from the M249 SPW family. But I can’t see it well enough and the picture obscures some of the details. The barrel length seems to imply to me it isn’t, or wasn’t originally intended, to use 7.62 though unless this wasn’t a “standard” factory weapon originally.
It looks like your standard military issue M249 Bravo. Uses 5.56 rounds and that's a 200 round drum for linked ammo. Carried one of those around every day all day for over a month so I'm somewhat familiar with them.
There's a lot of good folks in the FS community. I like being without a phone ,computer, tv, ect , for a while, every so often. Unfortunately , the phone has to be around for emergancies.
