I mean, I'm not saying this movie could have been wrapped up real quick with someone sniping Voldemort with a .300... but this movie could have been wrapped up real quick by someone sniping Voldemort with a .300.

In Star Wars, they were called slug throwers and were especially effective in taking down trained jedi since they would basically explode on contact with the lightsaber and act as flak, showering the jedi with tiny metal shards.
Alright, so you know what's always bugged me?
The lore says that "anything more complex than a screwdriver" would have difficulties around magic, yeah? We see it with the Flying Car.
So how the hell does the Hogwarts Train work just fine? I'd have to say that a train is exponetially more complex than a screwdriver, and brimming with leagues more magic as it transports an entire school of magical children and the candy trolly lady.
And also, surely a gun would work long enough to get a single bullet off. Tech doesn't start failing immedietly, it's a procression of inceeasing issues. As seen with the Flying Car.

The Wizards themselves do more complex things, like the Underwater Music Box in GOF or, well the Train.
