Yes. Killing a guy in a convertible from 50-60 yards with a 6mm battle riffle isn’t exactly a stretch for a qualified marine marksman. But- here’s what this is talking about. Witnesses and other evidence suggests there were 3 shots fired. The official report says it was 2. One shot went through JFK’s brain. That one isn’t widely disputed. The other bullet in the official report....
Went through his back, out his neck, into the guy in front of him, through the guys torso, into his wrist. Now- bullets tumble. Bullets penetrate- and using physics and composite imagery it is POSSIBLE that as unlikely as that sounds to some people- it happened just like that.
The other popular theory- the “3 bullet theory” usually holds that the second shot hit Kennedy more or less as stated, and the third shot- fired from another position than Oswald’s- hit the other guy. This is often called the “magic bullet theory” because there is no record or credible account of a third bullet being discovered- while the other two were. One theory is that the third shot- often said to be from a different weapon and possible some type of special round- or by luck- disintegrated on impact.
Witnesses report hearing 3 shots- a single shot, a pause, and then two very rapid shots. The third bullet is discounted in the official report because the timing of events makes it unlikely to the point of being declared basically not possible that Oswald’s weapon was capable of that speed of firing. Some disagree- others say that is evidence of a second shooter or the so called “grassy knoll” theory.
Wasn’t there a guy on a bridge in a straight line from the shooters position that got hit by a ricochet? So between that, the headshot and the magic bullet that is three
Course the grassy knoll wouldn’t make sense the sewer opening directly next to the kill spot was perfect for concealed shots while creating a crossfire and wasn’t checked in the immediate investigation as far as I know
I apologize because I phrased things poorly. To clarify- initially reports were 2 shots. Currently the official count is 3 shots. There are a wide range of theories on the actual number of shots fired and from where they were fired. The short delay between the third and fourth shots leads many to speculate that they could not both have cake from Oswald’s rifle- which was a $10 foreign surplus rifle known for decent accuracy and poor just about everything else including reliability.
Sort of? Oswald Qualified as a sharpshooter by slightly above the requirements. He later re tested and made slightly under sharpshooter and was down graded to Marksman. He had a demonstrated capacity to put 49/50 shots into a man sized target at over twice the distance of the supposed Distance he shot Kennedy from. The FBI claimed they could not zero the scope on Oswald’s rifle- which would make it most likely if Oswald shot Kennedy that he did it using iron sights. This is possible given that the rifle Oswald was arrested with has a side mounted scope- meaning you can use either or without much difficulty.
Bruh that's like... 2 cm thick at the most.
