Most of the burn book quotes are insults or rumors and aren’t dated. Things like: “so and so is a loser ” “so and so did an embarrassing thing...” etc. Not everything in the burn boom is true either- the burn book alleges some things that people directly or indirectly confirm are true or “half true,” but also has things that are false- like Their teacher being a drug dealer.
So the rumors in the book could be ascribed to Cady as things she heard, or things she made up- even if they happened before she arrived at the school. That said- it should be obvious to anyone reading that the book is written in different hand writings etc. meaning that multiple people had to be responsible or participate in making it.
Cady gets the blame because even if it is obvious other girls are involved- she doesn’t implicate them. She is the one known writer of the book, is at this point known as perhaps the most popular and “leader” of the group, and there is no way to tell for certain which things she wrote or was present for and which she was not.
The fact that she wrote or was present for any of it, and knew of the books existence and presumably read it regardless, but didn’t say anything about it, didn’t tell anyone or destroy it and stop the practice- is why she is guilty, and as the only “face” of the authors- she gets the blame
As tends to happen. Of all the people involved in terror plots- one tends to be the “star.” The 9/11 attacks had Osama as the mascot even if he wasn’t as involved in the planning or direct actions of the event. Not many people you meet on the street can name the others involved in the attack let alone all the hijackers yet know Osama no?
Likewise- Epstein couldn’t have done what he did alone. There’s no way NO ONE from a pilot to a driver or assistant or anyone else working with him couldn’t have known. But- without his client lost or testimony naming others- he is the face of the operation and the one confirmed (and not simply suspected) person that almost anyone can name as 100% probably involved.
Hi @coleypoley. 1. If you have questions, and seek answers, you will end up with more questions to seek answers to. Repeat. Sooner or later you end up with lots of seemingly random information.
2. Time management. I’m not a huge fan of multitasking but it has its places. But well managed time leaves more time to learn and think.
3. Be cheap and curious. If you do things yourself- you’ll have to learn how. Learning how usually means learning other things you need to understand to get the thing you are learning. Tinker, etc. this one needs balanced with time management. Sometimes it’s better to have someone else do a thing- and sometimes you won’t learn anything useful and your time is better spent. Of course- if I pay someone to do it I usually research the heck out of it! I want to know what I’m paying for and understand the work being done.
4. Life can take us to places. The more types of rooms you spend time in- the more you need to know.
5. Being old doesn’t hurt. But alone it doesn’t do the job. You can know more at 16 than someone knows at 60 if you keep your eyes open, experience the world, and notice things. The most we ever learn is when we are paying attention and engaged.
