The requirements sure were different. I don't see my parents' teachers expecting a Power Point presentation that included a montage of a lot of videos and constant animations/pics on screen to keep them entertained. And if they had to do a presentation in history, they would do it with the resources of the local library, maybe write a letter to a specialist they might have known, but no one would have expected them to know of an article published two weeks prior on the other side of the world...
So yep these can't even be compared.
Well, I as gen x beg to differ. I started college pre-internet and returned 20 years later. The internet makes things much easier. Using microfiche was like googling except you write down a year and a journal and give to a librarian. The librarian then brings you a film canister so you can read through everything and hope to get lucky. Every. Single. Time. No wikipedia, no you tube.
So yep these can't even be compared.
