One problem alot of actors deal with when they play damn good villains is when people meet them it's hard for people to separate the villain from the actor. So they tend to be rude to them. Or at meet greets they tend to ignore them.
I think that's ridiculous. We should tell the actors how we love to hate their characters. How much rage it made us and how amazing they were. I mean think about it. If the villain was played by a terrible actor would you still watch the show?
Yeah the hero is the main character but the villain sets the mood. They make you WANT the hero to win. A good villain makes you cheer when they fall and become spit nails mad when they win.
So you get the chance to meet a actor who played an villain tell them how amazing they were.
Makes me think of the actor who played T-Bag* in prison break.
.
If I remember right one of the other actors from the show was talking about how he got a bad rap with people because of the character he played, to the point I guess some woman with her kid even crossed to the other side of the street when she saw him coming once. Which they said was a shame because the actor is actually a very sweet guy.
.
On the one hand I guess it's a testament to how well an actor plays a character. On the other hand you have the art and you have the artist and should be able to separate one from the other.

*T-Bag is a character in prison for raping and murdering several teens after they stole his beer. He spends most of the first season off-screen raping another teen and threatening (or attempting) to rape and/or murder the main character. He also murders several other people.
