It’s truth. I know I am much more likely to hold onto something I don’t need when I can’t afford to buy a new one, because I might need it (and I won’t be able to afford a new one).
I know that when I am financially secure (whew, there was a minute there) I can readily get rid of things.
This hit me hard. Been trying to get rid of things and i just cant do it. Ive done it before and regretted it. So tired of being broke and sick all the time...
I recently helped a friend move into her first house and I basically had to pry her surplus belongings from her. She kept so much stuff with the belief that it would be useful later, and she didn't have enough storage space for it all. She also got a new, high paying job, and it completely threw her for a loop.
