If presentation is part of the grade, and the presenter shouldn't be a part of the actual project, then this works out.

I think they mean that it works out if the person on the left gets graded for presentation, as they did none of the other work

This is actually a good experience to learn about relationships from.
Nobody wants to be the one putting in all the work, you'll only end up exhausted and disappointed/upset with your partner.
